It is also worth noting that there were great variations
in R. javensis and L. variegata. A greater amount of calcium
carbonate accumulation on R. javensis was found in the
specimens from Ko Wang Nai and Ko Wang Nok. There was
variation in color and degree of softness of L. variegata from
orange to brown and very soft to hard texture. Turbinaria
spp. and Hypnea pannosa were abundant and grew over the
corals in the shallow subtidal reefs of Ko Taen.
