The Clerical Work of the Examiner.
During the administration and scoring of the WAIS, a number of the steps are primarily clerical in nature. Although it is assumed that the examiner is professionally qualified, the further assumption that he is clerically apt is often implied but unwarranted. Every examiner should realize the importance of careful, accurate work in completing the Record Form, and should review his procedures in the light of the following suggestions:
1. Record the points for each item accurately and legibly as the item is scored.
2. Where item bonuses are possible, record the subject’s time on the items affected and credit the bonus correctly.
3. When the first items of a test are not administered, as may be the case in the Information, Comprehension, Arithmetic, and Vocabulary tests, be sure to record the points for those items.
4. Check the addition of item points in computing the raw scores of the tests.
5. Make certain that the raw score for each test is accurately transferred to the proper space in the Summary section on the cover of the Record Form.
