In order to manage their own learning activities, students also need to utilize basic project management skills. In a traditional operating mode, instructors tell the students how much time they have and when they must be finished. Everybody finishes at the same time. However, given different levels of complexity for problems being addressed or questions being researched, it is not realistic to expect everyone to finish at the same time. Students should be taught to estimate their own time requirements. Again, this can be done within a structure developed by the instructor. Perhaps a block of time can be assigned by the instructor or a terminal point. But. students should begin to get a concept of time and try to monitor how their learning progresses and how much time each step takes.
