When a catastrophic disaster occurs wherein households suffer
loss of livelihood, have to be (permanently) evacuated, or both,
refuge at other members of the family as well as having job alter-
natives may be useful. The results of the survey have shown that
only about a third have family members with whom they could find
refuge (see Fig. 6), while only 30% of the respondents have possible
job alternatives. 55% of all respondents do not have family or job.
