Table 5 showed the effect of fertilizer and
plant spacing on the number of secondary branches in
Jatropha. The application of NPK fertilizer
significantly increased the number of secondary
branches in all the years. 350kg of NPK per hectare
produced the highest number of secondary branches
in all the years in 2009 poultry manure and cow dung
produced similar number of secondary branches with
the control. In 2010, poultry manure and 250kg
NPK/ha produced significantly higher number of
secondary branches than cow dung and the control
