Isolation of C. jejuni and C. coli from naturally contaminated chicken meat. A
total of 144 chicken samples, purchased in 2007 and 2008 at supermarkets in
Osaka and Shiga prefectures, Japan, were used; these samples included 39
thighs, 25 breasts, 25 ground meat samples, 21 white meat samples, 14 wings, 4
livers, 3 skin samples, 2 hearts, 2 gizzards, and 9 chicken meat samples (unknown
portions).
