Conclusions
Microwave-assisted solvent extraction
provides an efficient and reliable method
for the quantitative recovery of triterpene
saponins from C. asiatica. Compared
to the use of Soxhlet extraction,
MAE extraction times were much
shorter, yields were higher. The proposed
MAE is a good alternative to
conventional extraction techniques as it
solves most of their drawbacks, namely:
long extraction times, high energy and
acquisition costs, low yields. The MAE
method is a highly promising technology
