Accessibility was the other construct influencing diners affect towards a restaurant. This construct takes into consideration the location of a restaurant and is supported by previous research into site selection for convenience stores by Kuo et al. (1999), Shoemaker and Zemke (2005) in their study of local’s casinos found that location and the availability of parking were significant factors influencing the decision on where to gamble. The implications for restaurant operators are that careful consideration and research should be completed prior to selecting a restaurant location. The proximity to roof-tops (people’s homes, hotels, motels, etc.) is critical for the success restaurants during the dinner meal period. The importance of convenient parking should not be lost upon restaurant operators. Oftentimes the expense of acquiring parking close to a restaurant is viewed as a non-revenue producing expense. This study indicates the importance of providing well-situated parking and the direct effect it has on customer intent to patronize a restaurant.
