4.5.3. Converter
Since there are both a DC bus and an AC bus in the system there
is a need to have an inverter and a rectifier. In HOMER, a converter
(that has both the function of a rectifier and an inverter) does the
power conditioning in the system. The lifetime of the converter is
assumed to be 20 years and the efficiency of the inverter and
rectifier are both taken as 90%. The capital and replacement cost of
the converter are assumed to be $750/kW and $700/kW, respectively.
The O&M cost is negligible and is assumed to be zero.
