While awaiting precise recommendations:
o Avoid any communication. The following message can be issued to respond to request:
“You will easily understand that our first priority is to assist any member of the family affected by this tragedy and to which all the hotel staff members offer their deepest condolences.”
If necessary: “As a police investigation is in progress, we are not allowed to make any further comment.”
o Even in case of frequent requests from the media, any interview should be postponed and the waiting message repeated until recommendations from the CORT.
o Pass on these recommendations to your staff.
o Allocate an appropriate and specific reception area for the media.
o Ensure the switchboard directs the calls (putting call through to the designated persons, take messages or name and phone number collection)
