2. The vendor is considered out of scope for a quality assessment due to any of the below conditions:
a) Vendor provides travel services, supplies or other business related expenses (taxi, meal, parking, subscriptions, conference fees) that are approved by management and appropriately paid for using charge cards or cash per policy, or
b) Vendor is directed for use by a client and their use is required by a client contract, or
c) Vendor is considered only to be a distributor (reseller) of a product and does not provide installation, maintenance or support services, or
d) Product is general reagent, or used for research/developmental use only, or
e) Product or services is considered “freeware” or Open Source and does not require a contract to use or acquire, or
f) Product is a general reagent and/or ancillary laboratory consumable not available from a vendor on the QVL, or
g) Desired Product or service is not subject to GxP regulations (e.g., GCP, GMP, and GLP), or
h) Product is classified as a Class I medical device (type name in device field; Class I), or
i) Product is classified as a Class II medical device (type name in device field; Class II) AND is exempt from the pre-market approval process.
