The study of one's roots yields some understanding of important experiences in shaping the person. In addition to experiences within the family, other experiences are important to each person. These include educational experience-the experience of learning, the knowledge that has been learned in one's educational experience, and attitudes toward learning. Other meaningful experience include those with one's peers and those in one's community and neighborhood with background, and mental or physical handicaps. Experiences in organized group situations, in religious activities, and experiences related to illness, disability, poverty, or abundance of economic resources are also important.
