Lysinibacillus Sphaericus strain S2 was isolated from vermicompost in Thailand. The 16s full length was submitted to GenBank with accession of OL958639.1. It was cultivated at King Mongkut's University of Technology Thonburi's Department of Biological Engineering. Strain number S2 is a gram-positive ureolytic strain that has recently been applied for consolidating construction by mediating calcium carbonate precipitation. This strain revealed the urease capability which could be an indicator for microbiologically induced carbonate precipitation (MICP) activity. Further study using genome sequences of S2 could provide the metabolic potential of this strain involved in urea breakdown pathways and other genes in MICP capability.
