.The earthenwares used on Fort Canning differ in several other respects from those found in the other sites of early Singapore. The temper used on Fort Canning is normally finer than that used in pottery found elsewhere, while the shape and decoration of vessls also differ. It is obvious that a few artifacts were once part of ritual items; these include a long neck which may have belonged to a vase, and a stand (Fig. 6.01 a-b).
