The use of mechanical vibration in drying for the purpose
of improving the heat and mass transfer is of great
interest in process engineering. The vibration provides
for a more uniform drying of agglomerated materials
and elimination of dead zones in the equipment, resulting
in more hygienic operation for food products and a
reduction in the risk of microorganism growth (Finzer,
Limaverde, Freitas, Limaverde Ju´ nior, & Sfredo, 2003).
