he BioBricks registry is an online catalog that organizes fundamental parts, documents their biological functions and enables user-friendly browsing [10, 11]. Userssearch for parts by filtering the database according to therequired functions or parameters, e.g., a protein-codingdevice or regulatory parts that are induced by a specificmolecule. Furthermore, the website is constructed in awiki format to encourage easy access to information aswell as sharing and editing by users [11]. The registry isfacing challenges, however, in managing the DNA repos-itory because users must provide DNA segments that aresufficiently and accurately annotated. Proper categoriza-tion and documentation is essential so that the amendmentof information or new data can be easily introduced. As aresult, a myriad of new parts have emerged at the registryin recent years [10]. The increased utility of the registrywas also noted. Continuous development and improve-ment of the registry have made it a rich and powerfulcentral depository that serves the entire synthetic biologycommunity, academic labs and particularly iGEM teams
