Figure 6 shows the measured and simulated reflection coefficients of the designed dipole antenna.
It is observed that the experimental results are in good agreement with the simulation results. As
shown in Figure 6, only a small difference occurs between the measured and the simulated results. The
simulated impedance bandwidth defined by |S11| < −10 dB is from 2.65 to 17.3 GHz and the measured
impedance bandwidth defined by |S11| < −10 dB is from 2.65 to 17.5 GHz. Clearly, the designed dipole
antenna with the proposed feeding structure provides a wide measured impedance bandwidth ratio of
6.6 : 1 with a compact size (33 mm × 16 mm).
