Only little is know about breeding Green Spotted Puffers. Breeding has been successfully done in captivity but only little information is available. It seems that successful breeding has only occurred in brackish water and that spawning takes places after some sort of courtship. Sexual diphormism is unexisting.
The eggs are laid on the substrate or a flat stone. The male guards the eggs and the fry. The eggs hatch in about a week. The fry is also very difficult to feed. Try feeding newly hatched brine shrimps or Cyclops nauplii.
