Physical characteristics
Pre-weighed fruit samples were weighed on a top loading
balance (OHAUS, model ARA 520, New Jersey, 07058,
USA) after each storage interval. The losses in weight
during storage were expressed as % of initial weight on
each sample date. Fruit firmness was measured with Effigi
Penetrometer with 11 mm probe tip (model FT 327,Effegi
Alfonsine, Italy), which recorded the pressure required to
force a plunger of 11 mm diameter into pared flesh of fruit
samples
