Data Collection and Analysis
The qualitative data was collected in the form of interviews of the participants at the end of the program. They were asked questions about their experience in the course, effectiveness of the course in developing speaking skills, any improvement they require, suggestions and if they want to continue the course. Analysing the answers in the interview, the researcher found that students the course interesting, they were not aware that they were learning something but actually did. They suggested to make the program a part of the curriculum and will be happy to continue the course.
And very important, they felt that the program really helped them improving their speaking skills and gave confidence in speaking.
Conclusion
The data analysis answers all the research questions satisfactorily, it becomes clear that using Role-Play activities in the classroom motivates the learners, it allows them to learn. Use and practice the language in context. The activities provided them the opportunities to use the language in innovative way in real life context which gave them the confidence in speaking English. They also learnt new vocabulary and the correct pronunciation. So, overall it can be said, the use of Role-Play activities proved effective, it was effective in developing speaking skills of UG science students.
