The acidification impact was caused by the emission of inorganic
species like ammonia, nitrogen oxides and sulphur dioxide
involved in process with release of hydrogen ion in soil (Neung-
Hwan and Richter, 2004; Kozlowski et al., 2011). Acid rain was
also responsible for the acidification impact and is due to deposition
of wet (rain, snow, sleet, fog and cloud water, dew) and dry
(acidifying particles and gases) acidic components. The eutrophication
impact was due to human activities that accelerate the rate
at which nutrients enter in the ecosystems increasing the nutrient
availability. Chemical forms of nitrogen and phosphorous are most
often of concern with respect to eutrophication (Carpenter et al.,
1998). The production of ammonium nitrate was principally
involved in eutrophication impact because of high emissions of
nitrogen gases. On the other hand, the higher direct ammonia
emissions for the use of urea are the main responsible for the
acidification impact.
