The belief behind this tradition is that the participant in this preaching would be born again into the religion of Phra Si Ariya Metrai – the land of happiness as per the Buddhist belief inviting Phra Uppakhut who people of the Northeast believe is a patron of the Phawet ceremony, procession inviting Phra Wessandon and his wife, Lady Matsi, to return to the city, enjoy listening to the sermon on Phra Malai Muen Phra Malai Saen, enjoy the special cuisine of this fair, Khanom Jin, (Thai vermicelli or khao poon) and steamed sticky rice (khao tom mut) to give away to visitors and offer to the monks in the temple.
