The issue of health data standard and interoperability is not trivial.Many health information technology Project,regardless of the size,in many countries failed as health information technology services and applications are not interoperable.Information exchange is difficult to achieve in healthcare system due to absence of standards. In fact,studies indicated that lack of standards create a barrier for people to effectively collaborate because their information systems are not interoperable and makes it difficult to share or integrate data across systems.
For different systems to integrate health information,the information needs to be transferred from one system to another through interfaces.
