the women in the basics ofnutrition during pregnancy
for the health of mother and fetus, including food sources and
methods for selecting a balanced diet. The women were also
taught practical techniques for improving the quality of their
diets. They were encouraged to consume locally grown foods
that have a high nutrient value and to prepare and preserve
food in such a way as to reduce the loss of nutrients.
