Ethanol is commonly determined to be the chemical component ethanol or ethyl alcohol,
with molecular presentation CH3CH2OH (52.15% carbon, 37.73% oxygen, and 13.12%
hydrogen). It solidifies at 130C, in mass form. It boils at 78.35C, under 760 mmHg of
pressure. Its density at 20C is 0.7893 g/mL and, at 15C is 0.7943 g/mL. It is a clear,
colorless liquid, with aromatic odor, neutral reaction, and ardent flavor. It burns with a blue
flame of little luminescence but is very hot, and in its pure state it combusts spontaneously
by exposure to sun beams. Because of its water absorption rate, it is a very good agent in
preventing putrefaction, since it dehydrates tissues submerged in it.
