. This type of disbenefit arises where appropriate use of the system leads to unexpected
and unwanted side effects (strictly speaking, it refers to any unforeseen knock-on
effect of a technology, be it either good or bad, arising from normal activities). Unforeseen
impacts can range from repetitive strain injury to undermining product profitability.
