Pressure ulcer prevention
A good risk assessment will outline a patient’s risks and can be
used to develop a strategy for that patient (Guy, 2012).
There is a lot of talk about person-centred care but,
with pressure ulcer prevention, this is essential. Patient have
different risks so their prevention strategies need to be tailored
to them individually. It is important to involve the patient,
their family and carers as much as possible in the creation of
this strategy (Jones, 2013); their involvement will help them to
see the importance of it.
