In summary, the rFLACC tool was identified as being more useful, helpful, and accurate in clinical practice than the PPP scale by nurses who trialed the tools. the quantitative data were supported by written comments in the question¬naire. Conversely, die parents preferred the PPP in general, but the preference was not overwhelming. the findings for the category of accuracy of pain measure were similar. However, the remaining categories strongly supported the use of the rFLACC by both nurses and parents. The written comments clarified that although the PPP had better descriptors to assist nurses in identifying pain behaviors, most agreed that the rFLACC was more clinically useful and casier to use. Both nurses and parents agreed that imbedding the pain descriptors from the PPP to the rFLACC would be the ideal tool.
