The vallaris plants are known to be source of cardiac glycoside1 There are only two reports concerning the chemical constituents of vallaris glabra. The first one was the study on volatile constituents of the flower of vallaris glabra2, and the second report was on the cardiac glycoside 6.2(acoshimperoside P’,2’-acetate) from the leaves of this plant3 Due to our special interest in this type of compounds which we encountered from Calotropis gigatea4, we therefore aim to thoroughly study the constituents of the aerial parts of this plant.
