When you think of the Yamaha V-max the first feeling you get is POWER. After examining the bike in its stripped down state, we decided to keep it sleek and light to help showcase the heart of the machine… the V4 power-plant. To us, the stock intake scoops and tail section felt quite bulbous and aesthetically overbearing. SO, with the bodywork, we opted to make it smooth and slightly angular. The sharper lines now match with the crisp delivery of the engine. The gas tank was relocated to an aluminum belly tank below the swingarm and front valances were made to continue a smooth flowing feel from front to back. Renthal clip-on bars were added to compliment the new aggressive nature of the bike and an undertail, Stainless Steel, 4-into-1 exhaust was created to ruffle the feathers of any unsuspecting bystander. With all the fabrication complete, it was time for paint. With the bike going to Milan Italy, the fashion capital of the world, there was only one answer; it must be dressed in the finest of black pinstriped suits. We commissioned our professional tailor, Chris Wood from Airtrix for the fitting of the paint. We can only imagine the Versace spies will be ogling the bike for inspiration of next year’s line. With that said, we have sent it off to EICMA to be poked and prodded by the masses. Good thing the V-max has enough self-esteem to withstand even the toughest of runway critiques and make the ladies blush with excitement.
