"We didn't want to put in a doll, we thought it was too cheesy," Bicker said.
"Through trial and error, we've done a few different designs, but we settled on this one to make sure it is clear and communicated," Throgmorton said.
"It's important for people to walk around the display and say they had no idea the amount of planning it took."
The diorama is part of a new exhibit on El Chapo and Mexican drug cartels at The Mob Museum which focuses on the history of organised crime.
