Thailand's King Bhumibol Adulyadej has a blood infection and lung inflammation, the Royal Household Bureau has announced, amid fears for the health of the world's longest-reigning monarch.
According to the latest health statement on Saturday, a blood test on the king revealed an infection, and an X-ray found inflammation on his left lung, along with some water in his lungs.
Bhumibol reportedly had a fever a few days ago but doctors confirmed on Saturday his temperature is now back to normal.
They are continuing to treat the king for acute kidney problems at Siraraj hospital in Bangkok. The 88-year-old has been hospitalised for over a year.
