In this experiment, CH4 emissions from paddy
fields under the typical Chinese water management systems
were monitored throughout four years (from 2008
to 2011). The aims of this study were to characterize
and quantify seasonal CH4 emissions, to better understand
the effect of urea on CH4 emission, and to evaluate
the effect of CRF (thermoplastic resin-coated urea
in this study) on CH4 emission from paddy fields. The
information is expected to be helpful for developing appropriate
strategies for mitigating CH4 emission from
paddy fields.
