Research has shown that addiction college students have obvious obstacles in the learning process.
They reduce the learning initiative significantly, and induce to lots of disgusted learning behavior,
such as prone to accidie, depression, down in spirits, more frustration in learning, and more incline to

escape, being late, close one’s ears in class. They will experience a lower sense of accomplishment
compared with the other students. A survey was done in the research, and the questionnaire also
included the learning difficulties, the survey statistics data as follows:
As the investigation students from the private colleges, they have a common weakness in learning
foundation. From the survey data, a large part of the students have some difficulties in the learning
process among the normal use of the internet. But compared to the excessive internet use students,
the rate of learning difficulties appears significantly lower. Excessive internet use students seldom
take the initiative to learn and practice. Most of them belong to the passive learning condition (qu.5
48.5% vs 97.78%). Problem in knowledge memory (qu.2 45.0% vs 75.56%, qu.4 51.0% vs 91.11%),
understanding by themselves (qu.1 65% vs 75.56%), and understanding through the teacher’s
explanation (qu.338.50% vs 83.33%) also showed very great.
4. Experiment on cognitive of IAD
Cognitive psychology occupies a dominated status in the research of psychology. The findings
emerging in endlessly, and have greater and greater impact in educational technology. Among
cognitive ability, attention is a prerequisite for learning; memory is the foundation of learning,
thinking ability is a sword of learning; observation and imagination is the source of intellectual
activity. Young people are in a period of physical and mental development, so their brain function, or
psychological function has not matured. If long time, unrestrained exposure to strange sounds and
colourful stimulated, it may have a negative impact on their sensory function. A study indicate that
Internet Addiction students perform worse in work in the digital memory, dual-character recognition,
digit recognition and meaningless figures test than normal students. The difference is existed in
attention bias between the two groups.
A "Chinese character recognition," testing experimental mode is used in this psychological
research. The analysis is from the physical point of view on the addicts Memor.Old and new effect is
the difference for the recognition phase between old words and new words, according to previous
study, the main changes of ERPs component is the N300 and P500, which mostly reflect the
attention, memory, process.As the figure 1 shows, there are three main electrodes of old words for
the participants. The red line is the average waveform of IAD group; the green line is the average
waveform of normal group.
N300 response to the ambiguous word when the context is the “joint” to activate the ability, P500
response reflects the later re-processing capacity. For the old words, the N300 amplitude of the
normal group is larger than the IAD group, but there is no significant difference in latency; the P500
amplitude of normal group is larger than the IAD group as well, and the latency is shorter than IAD
group. It is note that the normal group in the early semantic treatment and the processing capacity at
a later stage are superior to IAD group. They all have a significant difference compare to the IAD
group. The experiment shows that the students whether internet addiction or not have differences do exist
in the recognition processing of Chinese words. Some of the differences could be interpreted as
reflecting different strengths and speed of brain activation and others could be interpreted as
reflecting the involvement of different neural structures. It’s suggested that the IAD could bring
some influence in the working memory to the teenagers from the neurophysiology.
5. Discussion
In this study, the excessive use of network rate is 41.44%, higher than other reported results. It may
be related to the related to sampling, that from private schools, mostly for engineering, male students.
In the survey, it is suggested that the students who have lower interest in studying is more likely to
become an IAD student. Compared to the normal use students, a more large proportion of excessive
internet use students have embarrassment in learning process. Excessive internet use students seldom
take the initiative to learn and practice. The experiment on cognitive test shows that the IAD could
bring some influence in the working memory to the teenagers from the neurophysiology. So there is
a close relationship among the major interest, learning embarrassment, cognitive ability and
excessive internet use. They will impact on each other.
Some experts pointed out that college students are like products in a sense. If found them failed at
the end, we would blame the college education. But in fact, there is already a problem in the pipeline.
So the educators should change the concept, the college students are not passive, their thinking is
comprehensive, active, and they are influenced by a lot of factors, such as social, environment,
teachers, classmates, leaders. Teachers in schools to teach students not only of a course, some
knowledge, more importantly, teach them ways of learning. There is a greater necessity to adopt
some strategies and methods in order to train the individual to fight his own resistance to internet
addiction. This means that the educative task is to guide development, to strengthen and upgrade the
individual’s ability to understand and choose with the aim of becoming active protagonists in their
own lives and not only in life on screen.
