A developer of new technology claims that the Robot-Rx is exactly an error-free pharmacist and is capable of
dispensing more number of prescriptions a day. In my opinion, a human pharmacist needs a robot assistant doing their
grunt work while pharmacist does the counselling with the customers/patients. Robot pharmacists (The Robot-Rx)
simply do what the doctor prescribe and order– they fill prescriptions and dispense drugs. In order to avoid mistakes
caused by doctor’s notoriously messy handwriting, for which the robot cannot prevent mistakes, the doctor should
type prescriptions directly into a computer network that the robot pharmacist can access. Robots are great at doing
the repetitive stuff.
