The specimen contains fine undercooled graphite in interdendritic position. But sometime the graphite is more in the form of short flakes.
The matrix consists of pearlite and ferrite in approximately equal proportions. The ferrite is usually closely associated with the graphite.
Sometime, patches of white iron structure may occur in such specimens. This feature is not unusual.
Numerous inclusion often cubic in shape, can usually be detected. There are of titanium compounds and as their colour is predominantly pinkish grey. They are probably titanium nitride. Although the carbide (white) can also occur
