The New Year in Thailand is call “Songkran festival”. It’s has 3 days from 13 to 15 April every year. Most Thai people go back to their hometowns to meet their elders. On this day, Thai people throwing of water is meant as a symbol of washing all of the bad away. In addition, they go to the temple to build a pile of sand and prayer for long life and happiness. On 15th April, it’s family day. Thai people has a traditional way to celebrate with elders, it’s call “Rot Nam Dam Hua”.
