This letterreportstheUV–VIS spectroscopicstudiesofnovelonepotsynthesizedpolyindole/poly(vinyl
acetate) (PIN/PVAc)composite films chemicallyusinganoxidantnickelnitrate.Thesurfacemorphology
of thepreparedsamplewasanalyzedthrough field emissionscanningelectronmicroscope(FE-SEM),
which showsirregular,non-porousstructureandspongyamorphousmorphology.TheUV–VIS spectro-
scopywasperformedtostudyopticalparametersofPIN/PVAccomposite films. Thesepolymeric
composite films exhibitedstrongabsorptionbelow250nmwithawell-defined absorptionpeakat
around 225nm.Theopticalbandgapenergyvaluesofthepreparedsamplesrangeover3.924–5.146eV.
However,themaximumopticalconductivityofPIN/PVAccomposite film wasfoundtobe2.92108 s1
at 350nm.
