Skyscraper History
The first famous tail building was the Empire State Building built in 1931 in
New York. It was constructed during the An Deco era of architectural design,
the first change in building design. It is 381 meters tail. Until 1972, when the
World Trade Center (Twin Towers) was built, it was the tallest man-made
structure on Earth. After the terrorist attacked on Sept. 11, 2001. the Empire
State Building is again the tallest building in New York.
