Abstract
This paper describes the design of a motor
control system using Hewlett Packard HCTL-
1000 motion control chip. The system is a
self-contained unit which provides position
and velocity control for DC motors, DC
brushless motors, and stepper motors. It is
designed to operate either under a host
terminal, a host processor through RS-232 or
RS-422 communication link. It can also be
operated under a pre-determined software
command in a EPROM or an EEPROM chip.
