iii. By pressurized liquid extraction (PLE). PLE was performed
using Dionex ASE instrument equipped with solvent controller for ASE-
300 (Dionex, USA). The plant material (10.0 g) was placed in the stainless
steel extraction cell (100 mL capacity) andmethanol (100 mL) was added.
The extraction was carried out by heating the sample in the cell under a
pressure of 100 bar at 60°C. After the cell reaches the set temperature, it
is held in the oven, at constant temperature and pressure, for 10 min
static time. The analytes and solventwere filtered and collected in the vial,
and the cell was then flushed with 60 mL fresh solvent, and purged by
nitrogen gas. This cycle for extraction was repeated once more. The
methanol extract was concentrated to dryness in a vacuum rotary evaporator
to obtain the dried residue.
