The aim of this study was to describe a nurses’ perceptions of spiritual care for patients. A qualitative research has been chosen due to the aim of the study. According to Evans (2002), a review of qualitative research was selected. The author used a systematic review to analysis the related studies and articles. The question “how nurses perceive about providing spiritual care for patients?” has been focused because these perceptions can impact quality of care as well as patient’s quality of life. In this study, meta-synthesis was applied to find the new result of the study. It is a process that help authors receive reliable and understandable data. The synthesis process comprised of four steps, containing; gather the sample, identify the key finding, related themes across studies and describe the phenomenon (Evan, 2002). They were valuable and useful for this study. This process helped the author to gain more understanding for synthesizing the articles and research. The study was relevant to the aim of this study. The trustworthiness was described in this study following; credibility because the researcher interpreted the finding from various previous articles and research through the genuineness of information from participants (nurses’ perception of spiritual care for patients). In addition, transferability was used because researcher can transfer and apply to related situation (Lincoln & Guba, 1985). Furthermore, the limited resource is weak-point of this study due to focusing on the aim of the study. Those articles were searched on CINAHL, and Google Scholar database.
