“Come on, I’m taking you back to the ship.” You tried to grab him but he stopped you, shaking his head.
“No.” He told you. “You need to go.”
“Not without you.”
He sighed as he looked up at you, still completely baffled by your kindness towards him, even now.
“Why… Why are you so kind to me?” He asked, breathing out. You furrowed your brows. “Since the first day… You have always given me kindness… Why?”
“I- I don’t know.” You shrugged, unsure of what to say. “I suppose I just wanted to understand. I wanted to understand, why you did the things you did…” You admitted. “And I- I knew you weren’t the monster everyone thought you were.” You whispered, as his eyes softened. Your words had shocked him. He hadn’t expected that response from you. He expected you to think the same as the others, expected you to use kindness as a way of getting information, but even then, it wasn’t for them. You wanted to know him. You genuinely did, and he finally saw it. He slowly lifted his hand, placing it on your cheek as you gave him a small smile. “You’ll be ok.” You told him, trying to convince yourself.
