Crawford & Company is committed to conducting its business not only in accordance with applicable law but also with the highest integrity, the first of our nine corporate values. Our Code of Business Conduct and Ethics sets forth the standards of ethical conduct expected of each of us, and is designed to serve as a useful tool in conducting our business on a daily basis. The Code applies to all directors, officers, employees and agents of our company.
The Code of Business Conduct and Ethics is the foundational document of our ethics and compliance program. An important component of that program is your annual web-based certification of the Code. This certification process is administered through Corpedia, a third party vendor, as part of a learning module designed to enhance your understanding of the major issues addressed in the Code. Every employee of Crawford is required to properly complete the Code of Conduct module and associated certification at least annually. Failure to complete and certify the Code of Conduct module shall be considered a work performance deficiency which will result in disciplinary action up to and including termination to the extent allowed by local law.
You will soon receive an e-mail from “Crawford Training” directing you to complete a web-based learning module. We are using our customary distribution method which will assign courses based on each employee’s individual course completion history. This distribution method results in courses about multiple topics (but usually only one at a time to each employee) being assigned during each release scheduled for March, June, September and November. Your first assigned module may not be the Code of Conduct module, and if you have completed all courses previously assigned, you may not receive any course assignment at all. Like the Code of Conduct module our other learning modules are designed to enhance your understanding of a variety of topics related to ethics and compliance and are assigned on a periodic basis based on best practices and the results of risk assessments. Those courses are also very important and failure to complete them may result in disqualification from raises, bonuses and promotion, again to the extent allowed by local law.
You are required to complete each course within sixty (60) days of its assignment to you. While each employee is personally responsible for completing the assigned modules, accountability for monitoring program completion lies with the Global Executive Management Team. In order to facilitate a proper reporting mechanism, personnel from each Business Unit or region have been designated with administrative rights to the Corpedia database. These personnel are responsible for providing real time completion information to their respective GEM Team member.
Doing business ethically must be embedded into our corporate culture. Your participation and engagement in our ethics and compliance program is essential to that process. Thank you for all that you do every day to foster ethical behavior in our workplace.
