Considerably higher pulp total carotenoid concentrations were observed in cv. Chanee than in cv. Monthong, at all stages of fruit growth (Fig. 2A). When fruit was ready to harvest (called mature fruit) the total carotenoid concentration of cv. Chanee pulp was 9 times higher than that of cv. Monthong while at the ripe stage (when the fruit was ready to eat) cv. Chanee had a 7 times higher total carotenoid concentration (Fig. 2A)
