The product of this phase
are a statements of the institute's
requirements and priorities which form the
information system's needs and clear
functional definition of the institute
structure. This results from the analysis of
the series of senior management interviews
which are conducted according to the
predefined format. The analysis goes
through the stages of functional objectives,
critical success factors, control information
and other quantitative means for
determining the successful achievement of
critical success factors leading to a specific
information needs. Further analysis of this
information needs can lead to an
identification of the information handling
processes, feeder processes and the
underlying data which is needed to provide
the information needs.
