Henry is a religious priest who is often transferred from one religious community to another. Wherever he is, others just tolerate him. He is not entrusted with any serious responsibility because he is not able to do justice to the work assigned to him. He has problems in handling even minor responsibilities. He is thoroughly disorganised in everything - care of his person, his materials, his time, his duty, and his relationships. His decisions are sudden and erratic. Sometimes he leaves his responsibilities and goes off for several days without telling anyone and returns when he pleases. In the meantime he forgets any work he has taken up and thereby puts others to trouble. He has sometimes peculiar ideas and even if others see there is no sense in them he sticks to them.
Now,hereisapersonwhoisgrownupchronologically, but is emotionally immature. Henry has had several losses in childhood. His mother passed away when he was a child; his two siblings died young; one of his siblings went wayward; his father was non caring and rather unemotional; the family had acute financial setbacks; and there was intra-family feud. Look at the volume of losses in this person's early childhood. What happens to the load of sadness and the load of anger toward various persons who were responsible for all these losses? With all these unhealed, un-integrated psychic material, sadly Henry is living more at the unconscious than the conscious level. No wonder there is so much disorganisation, indecision, looseness, poor sense of judgment about people and things.
