2.1. Preparation of aqueous fruit extract
The fruits of T. chebula were cleaned, dried and powdered. The aqueous extract
was prepared by the addition of 0.4 g of powdered fruit with 100 ml of distilled water
at 50 ◦C for 2 min. Further, the extract was filtered using Whatman 40 filter paper
and the filtrate was preserved in a refrigerator (10 ◦C).
