The magnitude of the differences in weight
outcomes between groups in these studies was
small. Weight loss in the exercise group ranged
from 0.1 kg to 5.2 kg, with most studies showing
weight loss of only 1–3 kg. These findings are
similar to those of previously published metaanalyses
and reviews which concluded that
exercise alone was associated with weight loss
of 0.6–3.0 kg compared with controls.
