As shown in Figs. 5 and 6, overall, the tensile moduli of
the rubber compounds at 100% and 300% elongation
increase with the addition of chitosan and increase further
as chitosan loading is increased. This indicates that the
addition of chitosan reduces the elasticity of the rubber
chains [24–26]. The increase in tensile modulus can be
associated with the maximum torque values of the rubber
compounds, which increased with filler loading.
